ThePoison Centermanages an average of 80,000 calls per year and makes over 100,000 follow-up calls on poison and drug exposure calls from the public and health care facilities. Poison Center nurses also receive incoming calls from various health departments in Arizona for disease reporting, assisting with surge from health departments with current public health issues; receive intake calls for Banner Occupational Health on the PEP (post exposure prophylaxis). All incoming calls are documented in an on-line chart system made exclusively for poison centers.
We are currently seeking a healthcare professional for a part time 16 hour per week day/evening position as a Poison Information Provider.
A Poison Information Provider (PIP) will take low acuity poisoning calls, gives information about poisonings, and manage other types of calls we receive from a PEP and immunization line as well as complete follow up calls.
We are looking for someone with a medical background such as EMT, ER Tech, Pharmacy Tech, LPN, Nursing Assistant, Nursing Student, Vet Tech, and Paramedic, etc.
The ideal candidate will have a related degree and at least 2 years of experience in healthcare with knowledge of pharmacology, toxicology and/or medical terminology.
