General Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Cath Lab Coordinator, the Cath Lab ARRT is responsible for the operation of the radiologic equipment and for maintaining excellence in radiographic imaging for the purpose of precise documentation during all procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The Cath Lab ARRT is also responsible to ensure optimal quality care for adult and geriatric patients. The Cath Lab ARRT actively participates in CQI and exhibits compliance with Summit Healthcare core values, service standards, patient safety standards, and support of a healing environment in all aspects of the job performance.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Operates all radiographic equipment and assists physician to obtain the best quality imaging result for each specific adult and/or geriatric patient.
Exhibits knowledge of normal and abnormal pathophysiology.
Maintains proper collation and identification of various forms of imaging archival systems used in the cath lab
Assists with completion of pre-and post-procedure cath lab and patient set up as required for adult patients.
Maintains proper sterile technique during procedures.
Monitors and records ECG and pressure waveforms during the procedure, demonstrating knowledge of normal and abnormal coronary anatomy and physiology for adult and geriatric patients.
Records key events occurring during procedures and enters use of supplies via physiologic computer system.
Communicates caring, concern and respect to patient, family members, peers, and physicians.
Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
Responds in emergency situations per ACLS protocol and is fully competent to do so as required.
Reports equipment malfunctions and documents immediately.
Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above essential functions, reports/removes unsafe equipment, reports/documents occurrences involving patients, and attends safety in-services.
Displays proper etiquette and mannerisms that reflect the SHINE Behavior Guidelines
Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent (required).
Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) (required).
Current AZ State License (required).
CPR Certification (required).
Computer experience (required).
ACLS Certification (required).
1 year special procedures and/or cardiac cath lab experience (required).
