Works directly with HME Logistics Manager or designee to provide assembly and repairs of all home medical equipment for Banner homecare facilities, including the home setting. Collects damaged or malfunctioning equipment, repairs or sources replacement equipment, and delivers and installs. Finds efficiencies where repair over replacement is practical and provides better utilization and turn-around of equipment currently being outsourced for repairs to external parties. Repairs customer owned equipment that has converted to sale after the initial 13-month rental period. Troubleshoots and documents service orders as applicable. Reviews and interprets manufacturer guidelines for repairs to ensure proper standards are met.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of clinical techniques, software applications, or skilled trade.
Acts as a knowledge resource. Uses well-defined and diversified procedures and precedents to solve a variety of problems. Develops own work routines to implement procedures.
Assists in the development, modification and implementation of departmental programs, processes, policies and procedures. Responds to standard requests from internal and/or external customers. Interacts primarily with department personnel, cross-department personnel, internal and/or external customers, patients and physicians.
Demonstrates communication, documentation and reporting skills. Participates in various departmental projects. Determines own priorities and may deviate from established procedures and practices as long as results meet standards of acceptability (volume, quality, timeliness). Receives high- level work direction, with after the fact review.
Must possess a strong knowledge of electronics as normally obtained through the completion of an Associates degree in electronics and a minimum of one year of related experience.
Must possess a valid drivers license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
Understanding of the repair and maintenance of general low-risk medical equipment technology devices. Knowledge of the application and use of PCs and how it interfaces with medical equipment. Understanding of the technical aspects of electronic equipment, its operation, repair and maintenance.
Home medical equipment experience preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
