Summary:

Responsible for the care of the endoscopy patient by proficiently planning, implementing and evaluating the preparation of the endoscopy case and the endoscopy suites. Assists in all endoscopy procedures. Assist in the nursing care of the endoscopic patient by performing duties and related activities, within scope of practice, for endoscopic procedures, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Additionally, performs all aspects of scope cleaning and high level disinfection. Responsible for the chemical monitoring of the Automated Endoscope Reprocessor (AER). Functions as part of the procedural team, anticipating needs of physician, and working within scope of practice during endoscopic procedures. Assists with positioning of patients during procedure. Exhibits thorough understanding of endoscopes and their workings. Ability to process and troubleshoot endoscope problems.
