$5,000 Sign-on bonus offered to eligible experienced Surgical Tech's! $$$Full Time, Days shift , 12 hour shifts
Assists in the care of the surgical patient by performing surgical tech duties, applying principles of asepsis to perform scrub duties and related activities for surgical procedures, arranging and inventorying sterile set-up for operations and passing items to doctors and nurses as needed and assists in preparing and moving patients and in cleaning the operating theater.
Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Assists with opening of sterile supplies, sets up for procedures and maintains an orderly surgical field. Adequately prepares for procedures/surgeries and anticipates physician's needs during procedures/surgeries. Accepts and properly identifies any medication or solution onto sterile field. Handles specimens/cultures according to policy. Performs sponge, instrument and sharps counts according to policy. Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment, instruments and supplies and returns all to proper locations.
Position Qualifications/Minimum Requirements
Successful completion of an accredited (CAAHEP, ABHES, etc.) Surgical Technologist program
Education required to obtain certification as a Surgical Tech as defined by NBSTSA or NCCT (i.e., two years of on-the-job training or seven years of experience working in the field)
Military OR training program with two (2) years surgical tech experience required.
Required for Cardiovascular Surgical Tech:
Two (2) years previous experience in vascular, cardiac and thoracic cases.
Preferred for Surgical Tech:
Previous experience as a Surgical Technician.
Licenses/Certifications: Required: American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required.
Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C)
