The Nurse Practitioner functions as an independent practitioner, as well as function in a variety of roles in collaboration with other health care professionals. The NP will develop educational programs related to wound and skin care, chair the facility skin care team (SWAT: skin wound assessment team), make appropriate recommendations to facility practitioners, and maintain trending data for quality improvement opportunities.
