The Communications Manager is responsible for developing, executing and evaluating comprehensive strategic communications to enhance member engagement, brand awareness and advance the mission, goals and objectives of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA).
The ideal candidate is a strong oral and written communicator with experience in public relations, media relations, event logistics, social media, digital outreach and content creation.
The Communications Manager works to support internal AzHHA teams with communication-related content and materials and will demonstrate the ability to coordinate various facets of a communication project from concept to distribution.
The successful candidate is an organized self-starter capable of multitasking and prioritizing projects.

Job duties and responsibilities include:
Responsible for creating, editing, maintaining and distributing accurate and timely hospital and healthcare-related communications through various mediums including newsletters, news releases, email, social media, website postings and print materials.
Regularly updates information to the AzHHA and AzCHER websites, seeking input from subject matter experts and distilling the information for public awareness.
Researches, develops, writes, produces, edits and distributes digital newsletters.
Implementation and oversight of the AzHHA database and member community platform.
Provides graphic design services for AzHHA and member marketing materials or presentations.
Assists in event planning and execution.
Assists in establishing audio-visual services and/or management during meetings.
This position will work in the office in downtown Phoenix with the option to work remotely on occasion.
Minimum education:
Two-year degree in Communications or related discipline.
Preferred education:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public relations or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Minimum experience:
Five or more years of public relations or communications experience with demonstrated work in research, planning and implementation of campaign elements.
Preferred Experience:
A background in healthcare, hospital experience is preferred. Five years of professional public relations, communications or journalism experience. Examples of recent graphic design work, social media and website content management requested.
Proficiency in Spanish, American Sign Language or any other non-English language.
Computer Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Creative Cloud, internet CMS software, email software, database functionality and hygiene.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisory responsibilities are required, but the ability to function collaboratively with team members is essential.
Special Skills:
Strong written, verbal, oral and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent written communication skills in script writing, news release writing, social media posts, member email, meeting presentations and website content
Experience in creating easy to understand, user friendly hospital and healthcare related marketing or awareness campaigns based on complex and technical source information
Experience preparing subject matter experts for live/recorded media interviews
