PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide; communicate and implement strategic; operational and programmatic plans and policies to achieve the mission; vision and values of CCHMC. Plan; direct; implement; organize; control and improve services; technical operations; financial performance; and administrative operations of Biodiagnostics in order to meet the fiscal; patient care; research and teaching needs of the Medical Center.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting directly to the Division Director and Radiologist-In-Chief with a matrixed reporting to the Chief Financial officer, The Vice President of Radiology will participate with the Radiologist-in-Chief and other institutional leaders in ongoing growth strategy planning and successful execution. As a leader in pediatric imaging research, this position will also oversee the Imaging Research Center which is both part of the Department of Radiology as well as one of the Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation core shared facilities.
The Department of Radiology performed 235,000 exams at 11 different locations inpatient and outpatient locations. Provided modalities include radiography and fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine and molecular imaging, and interventional radiology.
Position responsibilities include:
Strategic Planning- Provide leadership, management and direction for the operations and business functions of the Department of Radiology, including radiology professional practice plan, at a 692-bed pediatric academic medical center supporting clinical care, academic and research activities. Develop, implement, and execute delivery of 5-year strategic plan for the department including clinical, educational, and research areas that align with and support institutional strategy. Ensure alignment with the organization's strategic goals and agility in support of institutional goals
Leadership- Influence, support and represent organizational initiatives, philosophies and values through communication and aligned actions. Work collaboratively with the staff and leadership teams; this includes partnerships between faculty, operations, research, and patient services. Represent Radiology at all levels of the institution, as well as to outside partners. Demonstrate a passion and excellence for leading and inspiring teams.
Budget/Financial Management- Responsible for annual operating budgets of $250 million gross revenue and $48 million operating expenses and oversee annual capital budgeting and expenditures of $12 million Support and develop the research and academic programs of Radiology and support extramural funding opportunities. Plan clinical and business strategies and market associated programs to grow overall business operations.
Human Resources/ People Management- Direct a team of 360 employees spanning a variety of functions including business and finance, allied health, quality improvement and compliance, research professionals and administrative support. Build world-class teams in all areas of responsibility and ensuring recruitment and retention of staff whose values and attributes are congruent with the mission and vision of Cincinnati Children's. Coaching and mentoring others, helping to ensure appropriate resources are available to achieve goals, providing constructive feedback and leading/serving on hospital committees.
Patient Access, Satisfaction and Safety- Oversee, monitor, and optimize patient access to clinical care. Create a culture that promotes patient, family, and staff safety. Monitor performance against access targets and physician standards for scheduling and wait times. Develop and implement improvement interventions when warranted. Working with quality improvement drivers lead to continuously improving patient access and flow, service effectiveness, patient safety and satisfaction
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
MHA or MBA
10+ years of relevant experience
Preferred:
Prior operational and supervisory experience within a complex medical center
Physician office practice experience
Unique Skills:
Communication Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
Analytics Analytical ability required to evaluate data, Possess attention to detail and sound knowledge of procedures and regulations.
