We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner!
At Summit Healthcare, we are committed to excellence in neonatal care, and our dedicated team of providers works tirelessly to ensure the well-being of every newborn entrusted to our care.
About our Department:
Newborn Nursery: Our department boasts 18 newborn nursery bassinettes equipped with normal nursery capabilities, ensuring that every newborn receives the highest quality of care in a comfortable environment.
Couplet Care Unit: With 10 beds initially and the capability to expand into 20 beds as needed, our couplet care unit offers comprehensive care for new mothers and their babies, promoting bonding and family-centered care.
Level II Nursery: Summit Healthcare is proud to have a separate unit dedicated to Level II nursery patients, featuring 8 nursery beds equipped to handle specialized care for infants who require a higher level of medical attention.
Neonatal Providers: Summit Healthcare is supported by approximately 8 neonatal providers, including 3 pediatricians and 5 family practice physicians, who specialize in caring for well newborns. These providers work closely together to ensure that every newborn receives comprehensive and personalized care.
Special Care Nursery: Our special care nursery is staffed by 3 pediatricians who provide specialized care to our patients, as well as 5 family practice physicians who have privileges in the Level II Nursery to care for uncomplicated newborns born at 35 weeks gestation and above. Additionally, family practice physicians have privileges to co-manage complicated cases (<35 weeks) alongside neonatal nurse practitioners (NNPs), pediatricians, and/or neonatologists.
Availability of Providers: Our neonatal physicians and NNPs are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide direct patient care services to both low and high-risk newborns. They also respond promptly to obstetrical emergencies, ensuring that mothers and babies receive immediate and expert care when needed. In cases where patients cannot be safely transported, we are equipped to deliver babies as early as 32 weeks gestation, prioritizing the health and safety of both mother and child.

Various shifts & moonlighting available. Minimum of 1 - 24-hour shift required. With the option to work a combination of 12 and 24-shifts, which can be varied to suit one’s needs as well as the unit/team.
